And Lyon says...

Lyon's outside hopping around in Fenix's sleeping bag when he falls off the back porch.
He starts crying that he's broken his leg. So I pull him onto my lap while he cries and cries all forlorn that he'll never be able to walk again and that he'll only be able to hop and how that is not fair!
At which point Bear chimes in that it is fair because Lyon ate all the Popsicles.
Lyon carries on about how he'll need to go see a doctor.
Now his leg was no where near broken, he'd barely stubbed his toe, so I mentioned that I happen to be a doctor myself, because
I am doctor Mom.
Lyon stopped his crying for a minute to think this through. He finally tells me that I'm not a doctor because doctors go to doctor places.
Bear chimes in again,
"Lyon," he says exasperated.
"Mom goes to the doctor all of the time!"
That made me laugh.
He continued,
"Moms got the most hurtingest tummy in the world!"
That made me lmao!
I told Lyon i could fix his foot really easily, he asked me how.
I told him all it'd take was a kiss from doctor mom.
I kissed his foot.
He insists my kiss didn't help, but he's up and walking, so I'm going to go ahead and claim his recovery on my impressive healing skills. ;D

Safety fair and breakfast

Bears school had a fund raiser/safety fair on Saturday morning.
Bear had asked to go and though it meant getting up early I figured it was worth going if not for the pancake breakfast (i don't like pancakes) then for the fair. We got there to find the breakfast line a half mile long, but since we went with Superman's parents, who offered to save our spot in line, we took our kids outside to see the fire truck, ambulance, and police cruiser. Kids were climbing in around and on these vehicles like ants would a plate of donuts.
After a very detailed tour of the ambulance we headed back inside for breakfast. Though I am not a pancake fan, Superman and our kids are, lol!
They loaded their plates with pancakes covering them in strawberry syrup, strawberries, whipped cream, and sprinkles. They loved it, Bear and Lyon went back for seconds, and Fenix simple needed more syrup and whipped cream because she'd eaten all of what she already had off the top of her pancakes.
When we finally finished eating and cleaning the kids up we went to check out the different safety stations. Bear saw one of his friends mom's and made sure we met each other so we could set up play dates, lol! And then we went back outside to see the vehicles again :)
All in all it was a fun way to spend our Saturday morning.

Waiting, wishing, dreaming...

Yesterday I took my kids out to lunch. Lunchtime had rolled around and I couldn't decide what to make, my kids couldn't either. I hate meals like that...
So we loaded up in the truck and went to Del Taco, which was stupid because I could have made some quesadillas at home...
Well we got our lunch and then headed home on the back roads. Half way home we came to a stand still in back road traffic. The hold up being rail road tracks... The lights were blaring and the gates were down, and yet there was no train...
Now me I was fine in this instance of trapped waiting. I had good music to listen to, I had a bag of food to eat, a drink, and a pretty great view of maple mountain.
My kids however had finished their food, did not care for my music, and with no train to look at were getting really bored.
So what to do, we were trapped. I had cars in front of me a big truck trailer behind me, and on my left, a curb to high to drive over, even in my truck.
We sat there for at least twenty minutes before I finally decided that we'd never get across those tracks. So I pulled up onto the right shoulder of the
Road, put my truck in reverse to drive backwards down the slope past the line of cars that were also stuck waiting, wishing, and dreaming of the other side of the tracks.
When I finally turned around and headed the other direction on an alternate route home, Bear said,
"I bet the gates came up now."
Which is all to often the case, but when I glanced in my rear view mirror I saw that nothing had changed, the tracks were still uncrossable.
I must admit, I was a little relieved...
I hate being the person who gives up three seconds to soon, lol! ;)

Big bang...

My kids are in quiet time, which means they are supposed to be playing quietly in their rooms. Suddenly I hear this big bang. I yell down to my boys,
"what was that?"
They don't answer.
I yell again, louder,
"BOYS! WHAT WAS THAT BIG BANG?"
Still no answer.
I run down to their room open their door and ask them again what that big bang was. They look at me and shrug their shoulders.
I go to check on Fenix.
I open the door and it bangs Into something. What the heck...
She had knocked over her doll house, which explained the big bang.
What I still don't understand is how she managed to knock it over onto its back, and how she did so without it landing on her.....

And Fenix says...

"Look mom it's my favorite flower, it's lellow, and it's so pretty."

And Lyon says.....

"And mom guess what, one of my class mates moms, well, her baby doesn't want to come out her belly.... Cause it's nice and warm in dere..."

Oh Fenix...

Well she is definitely my daughter...
She loves salad as much if not more than I do!
That bowl was full of lettuce, carrots and Italian salad dressing, she gobbled it all up :D

And then cried when I wouldn't give her more, lol!

Squeeze the juice!

Superman has started a diet!
Never thought i'd see the day that this happened, Phil is just too easy going to be a dieter....
Well he watched Fat, sick, and nearly dead on Netflix and promptly went out and bought a juicer.
The goal is sixty days of nothing but juice and nuts.
For the last month he's just been getting used to the juicer, trying out different vegetable juice combinations and mentally preparing himself for sixty days without cheese ;D.
He's made some pretty nasty concoctions, but with my help and tweaking we've managed to come up with several good juices. Who'd have thought that grape juice with radish juice could be so tasty....
Add some celery, carrots,
and a sprig of parsley and dang that's some good juice.
Another good one which basically tastes like the best salsa you've ever had and have sworn you could drink... Tomatoes, red pepper, garlic, one of those tiny red onions, parsley or cilantro, a slice of peeled lemon, and of course a bit of jalapeƱo.
So freaking good!!!
Then of course there are the green juices which are just greens like spinach, kale, green apples, and several other things that I can't remember names for. He switches all these things around for a few different green juice options.
The man started this juice diet on Saturday (I think) and has already lost five pounds (the goal is forty) which cannot be blamed on bathroom trips (surprisingly) or dehydration. Although I guess I didn't ask him if he had his keys phones wallet and special pens ;) in his pockets at his first weigh in.... I mean together those could easily weigh five pounds....
Whatever the case the fresh juice is the yummiest juice I've ever had. Puts the taste of dr pepper to shame, and that's saying something!!!!
We'll all just have to watch and see if this juice diet works for my Superman. In the mean time I will just sit back and enjoy a glass or two of the good stuff myself, it's the most nutrition I've been able to keep down the last three weeks and is a heck of a lot better than cupcakes and ice cream :)
